This morning I enjoyed my last espressos on the balcony of my room at the City Suites Curaçao... across there will be built a new hotel in 2 years, which surely will block the view of the ocean! - If I had something to say here, then I would arrange a competition for such construction sites and the most beautiful and sustainable project would receive the concession! That would be a contribution to control things consciously sustainable instead of just profit-oriented?!

Heute
Morgen genoss ich meine letzten Espressi auf dem Balkon meines Zimmers des City
Suites Curaçao... gegenüber soll in 2 Jahren ein Hotel gebaut werden, das Hotel
wird dann sicher die Sicht aufs Meer versperren! - Wenn ich hier etwas zu sagen
hätte, dann würde ich für solche Bauplätze einen Wettbewerb ausschreiben und
das schönste und aufwertendste Projekt würde die Konzession erhalten! Das wäre
doch ein Beitrag um Dinge bewusst nachhaltig anstatt nur profitorientiert zu
steuern?!

Um 10:30 Uhr
fuhr ich beim Savanah Auto Center vor und gab meinen ‘pikanten‘ Kia ab nach ca.
350 km auf Curaçao. Die nette Cheritza fuhr mich zum Flughafen, den wir mit
anregenden Gesprächen im Nu erreichten. Nun weiss ich auch, weshalb man hier 2
Stunden vor Flug am Flughafen sein muss: Mein Flug zur 3. und letzten ABC Insel
meiner Reise, nach Bonaire, war um 13 Uhr geplant, um 12 Uhr gingen wir jedoch
bereits an Bord und eine Viertelstunde später als alle im Flieger sassen hob
die Aruba Maschine ab! Auch dieser Flug dauerte nur 15 Minuten und so landeten
wir eine Stunde vorher als geplant auf dem Flamigo Airport in Bonaire!
At 10:30 am I drove up at Savanah Auto Center and returned my ‘piquant’ Kia after about 350 km driven on Curaçao. Lovely Cheritza drove me to the airport, which we reached in no time having inspiring talks. Now I know why you have to be here 2 hours before the flight: My flight to the 3rd and last ABC island of my trip, to Bonaire, was scheduled at 1 pm, but at noon we boarded already and at 12:15 when everybody was on the plane the Aruba Airlines machine took off! This flight too lasted only 15 minutes and consequently we landed at the Flamigo Airport in Bonaire one hour earlier than scheduled!

Am
Flughafen wurde ich von Mark von Tropical Car Rental mit seinem
Riesen-Schlitten, das mein Mietauto für 5 Tage ist, abgeholt. Der sympathische
Holländer will nur das Beste für meinen Aufenthalt hier auf Bonaire, deshalb so
einen starken Wagen und seine Mietwagen sind inkl. Ausflug nach Klein Bonair (er
ist auch der Eigentümer von Caribe Watersport) und Schnorchelausrüstung -
Service pur! : )
At the airport I was picked up by Mark from Tropical Car Rental with his giant set of wheels, which is my rental car for the following 5 days. The friendly Dutchman only wants the best for my stay here on Bonaire, that’s why I have such a strong car and his rental cars include a trip to Klein Bonair (he is also the owner of Caribe Watersport) as well as snorkeling equipment – service pure! : )

Nachdem
ich seine Wohnungen und Oldtimer besichtigt hatte, fuhr ich die paar Meter zu
meinem Appartement der Ocean View Villas. Joris erwartete mich bereits und
führte mich in meine wunderschöne Wohnung mit Meersicht. - Wow: je kleiner die
Insel desto grösser das Auto und die Bleibe! : )) Dann ging
ich mit meinem Ford DUB Explorer erst mal einkaufen... mit welcher Freude, denn
auch hat es all die Goodies aus Holland!

Ich richtete mich für die kommenden 5 Nächte in meinem Appartement ein und unternahm dann einem
Spaziergang entlang der Küste um meine Umgebung zu erkundigen - es hat viele
wunderschöne Gebäude und der erste Eindruck sagt mir, dass Bonaire die
naturbelassenste und grünste der 3 Inseln ist...
I installed myself in my Apartment for the next 5 nights and took a walk along the coast to explore my surroundings – there are many beautiful buildings and the first impression tells me that Bonaire is the most natural and greenes of the 3 islands...

Bevor die
Sonne unterging fuhr ich ins Städtchen Kralendijk, das nur gerade 5 Fahrminuten
von meinem Appartement entfernt liegt, und setzte mich aufs Pier von Karel‘s
Bar und Restaurant... zuerst genoss ich ein Glas Chardonnay beim
Sonnenuntergang und danach ein herrliches Thunsteak mit viel Gemüse und Yucca
Chips - genial!

Before the sun went down I drove to town, Kralendijk
is only 5 minutes drive from my apartment, and took a seat on the pier of Karel's
bar and restaurant... first I enjoyed a glass of Chardonnay at sunset and
afterwards a wonderful tuna steak, lots of vegetables and yucca chips - delicious!
